SSHA Girls Volleyball
Registration is open for the 2024 fall volleyball season. Please register HERE today!
We are excited to begin a new season of volleyball for our South Shore Homeschool Athletics! Last year we had 15 girls ranging from 6th grade through 12th grade. We are looking to expand this year. Our goal this year is to offer three volleyball teams.
We're looking at a new player elementary/middle school team. This will be for any girls going into 5th grade through 8th grade who are new to the sport or have little experience.
Our second team will be our JV team. This team will consist of experienced middle school players and younger high school-aged girls.
Our third team will be the most advanced and will be our varsity team. This will be for those athletes in 8th grade and above who show proficient knowledge and skill on a varsity high school level.
Our high school-aged players will have a season from August through October with 2-3 Saturday tournaments for the varsity and possibly one or two Saturday tournaments for the JV level.
JV and Varsity Volleyball Break Down:
Athletic Fee per athlete: $200 + ($25 if you're not a Vine & Branches Member.) Players are to pay separate for team jersey, shorts (not spandex) and white knee pads. Uniform cost will be determined at a later time.
Fundraising: $100 commitment. This can be satisfied with a buy out at registration or fundraise to raise the money. (See below for more detail.)
Practices: Open gyms will be on Fridays in June from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Official season practices will start Monday July 8, 2024 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Practices will be held Monday, Tuesdays and Fridays during the season. Locations will be given on our parent/athlete app.
Communication: SSHA teams utilizes the GameChanger app for all forms of communication to announce practice and game times. This app also allows for live scoring and videoing of all games.
Additional Optional Fees: SSHA Merch, tournament merch, hotel stays for tournaments, food during tournament and game days.

Additional Optional Fees: SSHA Merch, tournament merch, hotel stays for tournaments, food during tournament and game days. (It is undetermined if this team will attend any tournaments.)
Fundraising: To keep individual player cost down, and to help you pay for athletic fees, we as an athletic program need to fundraise to offset some of the costs mentioned above. Currently we will have three fundraisers during the season. One is through a company called Double Good Gourmet Popcorn. This is a 100% online fundraiser. Your athlete will receive 50% profit from each sale in a form of credit towards their fundraising commitment. Extra money raised will be reimbursed in a form of check for the amount of money paid at registration. Extra money raised above that will be credited for their future athletic fees. (Exception would be if your child is graduating, all extra money raised in this fundraiser would go towards the SSHA general fund.) Our second fundraiser is called a "Cash Square Calendar." This is another opportunity for athletes to earn their fees back. More details to come.
Our last fundraiser will be a 50/50 raffle ($1 each) that all athletes will participate in and all earnings will go towards the SSHA general fund.
If financially all of this seems overwhelming, please note that we encourage sponsorships from local businesses. 100% of your sponsorship money will go toward your child's athletic fees. You can find a sponsorship form HERE. If you have questions about sponsorships, please reach out to Christine Wilson at [email protected] or Greg Wilson at [email protected]. There's even a possibility that your work place may match any donation.
