SEASON: February 2024 - May 2024 8th thru 12th Grade
(A student athlete, 9th grade through 12th grade, from a private or public school that does not offer a specific sport may participate with SSHA. (According to the National Homeschool Rules.) The Non-Homeschool Eligibility Consent Form must be signed by the student’s administrator, parent and self.)
Practices start February 13th and are located at the Faith Bible Church in Valparaiso. Currently practices are planned for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Faith Bible Church and Fridays from 6:00-8:00pm at the South Haven Christian Church.
Boys volleyball is the new and upcoming sport opportunity for young men to participate in during the spring season in Indiana. Because of this, the season will be limited in competition, but there will be plenty of time for practicing and learning the sport.
*If your player is playing another winter sport that overlaps or has a conflict that prevents them from attending practices, please reach out to Hannah Wilson at [email protected]to discuss.

Their business will be advertised on our website.
Break Down of Fees: Referees Tournaments Practice Gym Rental (Biggest Cost) Gym Rental for games we host Volleyball Equipment First Aid Items
(Vine & Branches Fee) covers liability insurance and it allows each homeschool family to become associate members. This gets you access to all of Vine & Branches calendar of events which include, but are not limited to field trips, grade group events, parent night outs, and more.
Fundraiser Fee: To keep individual player cost down, we as an athletic program need to fundraise to offset some of the costs mentioned above. If you do not want to participate in the fundraising, you may opt to pay the $100 fundraiser fee upfront. One fundraiser for this year's season will be February 26th -29th. It is through a company called Double Good Gourmet Popcorn. This is a 100% online fundraising. SSHA will receive 50% profit from each sale. If you fundraiser a bunch you can have the option to be reimbursed for your athlete fee. Our other fundraiser will be a 50/50 raffle ($1 each) and the date will be determined later. (Our last winner received $468!!!) You may pay the fundraiser fee upfront or have your athlete participate in fundraising to satisfy their fundraiser fee. Athletes who choose to go the fundraising route, who do not meet the minimum amount, will have an invoice on their Vine & Branches account to pay the difference at the end of the last fundraiser.
If financially all of this seems overwhelming, please note that we encourage sponsorships from local businesses. 100% of your sponsorship money will go toward your child's athletic fees. You can find a sponsorship form HERE. If you have questions about sponsorships, please reach out to Christine Wilson at [email protected]. There's even a possibility that your work place may match any donation.
* If your athlete participated in the fall season and you paid $10 for an associate membership, you will need to pay an additional $15 for this spring season. Please note, this associate membership will last your family for the remainder of the school year.
PAYMENT If you need a payment plan, please reach out to Christine Wilson at [email protected]. Payments can be made via cash or check to South Shore Homeschool Athletics and given to Christine Wilson at practice. Or they can be paid online through the Vine & Branches website.
Sports Physicals are required to play! Several clinics such as Midwest Clinic offer walk-ins for $35 with no proof of insurance needed. Please note if you participated in our fall or winter sports programs, you do not need another sports physical. They are good for one year. Form for physical can be found HERE.
